ABOUT SCHOLAR BUDDIES
Building Strong Foundations for Confident Learners
Scholar Buddies Literacy Programmes NPC is a South African non-profit company supporting children’s English literacy, reading comprehension and mathematics learning in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
We currently work with learners at Lufhereng Primary School, providing additional educational support to help children strengthen foundational skills and grow in confidence.
Our learner-centred approach recognises that children need different levels of support and opportunities to practise. We aim to identify learning gaps and provide activities that help learners build understanding at a pace suited to their needs.

Helping Children Build the Foundations They Need
Children need strong reading, language and mathematics foundations to participate confidently in their education. Some learners need additional time, encouragement and practice beyond their everyday classroom experience.
Scholar Buddies exists to provide that support. We help learners work towards stronger foundational skills while encouraging confidence, curiosity and greater independence in learning.

Founder, Programme Manager and Lead Facilitator
Kutlwano Pota holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology and an Honours degree in Psychology.
She has experience in leaner support through after school educational programmes and leaner support activities.

Education Facilitator
Tshireletso Takalo holds a Bachelor of Education (BE.d) degree in Senior & FET and brings an educational background and experience working with leaners and classroom-based learning.
